Well, the art class is over for this semester.  In fact, all of school is over for this semester.  I completed Drawing I at Front Range Community College in Larimer.  It was fun, I’ve never drawn anything before.  I shared my pieces on Facebook as they developed, but I didn’t follow up with another post from my previous one here on my blog.

Unfortunately, I don’t exactly have all the pictures to flesh back out here on my blog.  But, I do have what I could consider the culmination of my work as it hung in a community gallery.  It was kind of cool to see it there.  Here’s a picture of it:

This was I believe white conté on darker paper.  I was able to do reduction on it to get the details, but I forgot how exactly I did that.

I made a HUGE picture for my final, and I’ll see if I can put that one up later.  Maus says I’m better than I think.  I like to think I picked up a few skills that I didn’t have before.  It was definitely challenging.  I’m taking Drawing II next semester.  It’s scheduled in the evening, so we’ll see how well that goes.

I went to see Tomorrowland with our friend Rhiannon.  She took a picture of us when we came out of the theater.  Tomorrowland was awesome.  It was one of those movies I would’ve been really upset over and self hating had I seen it a couple years ago.  I mean, obviously the characters in the movie are over the top, but at the same time it’s hard not to feel like you’re not doing something with your life.

I have been doing something, I’ve been working on the same project for fourteen years.  It’s super hard, and I never am able to ever get where I want.  Fourteen years is a long time.  I have to remind myself, “I have invented it, it’s just not feasible yet.”  It’s a computer program, and I did invent what I wanted to invent but unfortunately I can’t fully run it on a machine because it runs out of memory.  It does work when it doesn’t run out of memory, so that’s something.

Anyways, here’s the nifty picture Rhiannon took:
