Toby Froud Makes Puppet Movie!

Toby Froud and others (Heather Henson) is making a new movie.  This was kickstarted apparently.  I remember The Labyrinth, but I only discovered it in my teens instead of as a child.  My childhood movies are The Neverending Story and The Dark Crystal.  I wish I had seen Labyrinth when I was younger but it was not meant to be.  Jareth the Goblin King was, well, a sexually confusing character.  The puppets that the Henson’s made were marvelous.  I remember there was this one movie about this boy who had a stuffed dragon, he was asthmatic, but I’ve never been able to find it again.  But one of my favorite movies was about bunnies revolting against the farmer, but unfortunately I can’t remember the name of that one either.

Either way, the thing I like about The Neverending Story, or others, is that the special effects are so much more ‘real’ than some of the CGI stuff today.  Today, things look too beautiful, things look too semi-realistic.  Now that we can do anything we imagine as a special effect in a live-action movie, it’s kind of lost its luster or magic.  Gmork from The Neverending Story is a great inspiration to me in making my Gary the Green Husky suit.  I totally want the face to be that animated… I think I can do it!  I can do anything!
